Weekend.

How was everyone’s weekend? We had a pretty good one over here. Sorry for the lack of pictures – I didn’t use my camera much this weekend.

Saturday started out like any other day. Breakfast at home, nap time then we headed out to look for a couch and a new dinning set. We aren’t buying right now but we are started the process on looking. It’s sad to say this but the couch we have right now we got from a friend who sold it to us for 100$ when he and his girlfriend moved in together. It was almost brand new but it was leather and his girlfriend said it was too bachelor for her so he just wanted to get rid of it. I think we got it in 2005. It’s been great to us but it’s time for a new one. We are thinking about a sectional but haven’t made a final decision yet so we are just scoping things out right now.

As for a our dinning set – at least that is a little newer. I think we purchased it in 2007 (or 2008) when we lived in a tiny apartment and only had room from a small table. Its a high table with seating for 4 with bar stools. Again, it’s been good to us but now that we have a kid its not very convenient. I’d also like to transition Abby from her high chair to a booster seat as soon as possible but with bar stools that’s not really possible so we are on the hunt for a new dinning set as well. We only have limited space (seating for 6) as our eating area is pretty small but we’d like to last awhile and hopefully transition to our next place (whenever that may be) so we are being pretty picky.

Anyways, so after Abby woke up from her morning nap we headed out. We first made a stop at Fat Burger. This is only my second time being there but they have awesome burgers, fries that are unsalted (which I love – I’m not a big fan of salted fries) and the Best Shakes Ever. Then we headed over to EQ3 which is a furniture store here in Canada. They have some pretty nice stuff and we found a couple of items that are definitely on the list of things to consider. We then made a quick stop at Pier 1 to look for some fall decor. I ended up picking up some glitter balls on super clearance for a vase that I have.

After we left the plan was to head home for Abby’s afternoon nap and then maybe make a quick trip to the mall for a few things. On our way home the little monkey fell asleep and totally botched that idea so we just headed strait for the mall. She only ended up sleeping for 15-20 mins so we thought we’d run our errands then hopefully she’d go down for a nap when we got home. After a sort of successful trip (Matt picked up a couple of t-shirts and a new pair of swim trunks, I’m looking for a vest for the fall but couldn’t find one I liked) we headed home. I put Abby down for her nap. She flat out refused to nap, so I just gave her an hour of quiet time instead. Naps are a little all over the place right now so I guess after her car nap she just couldn’t settle down enough to nap (more on napping later on in the week). After an hour I went into her room and found her like this:

We ended up making pita pizzas for dinner and then after we put the munchkin to bed, Matt and I spent the rest of the evening catching up on the tv that we missed throughout the week.

On Sunday we had to make a trip to Costco. We don’t go very often but we do buy our toilet paper, paper towel, etc there because it is so much cheaper. So after Abby’s morning nap we headed over. I used the trip for an excuse to stock up on some of my favourite items: almond butter, frozen berries and coconut oil. I also picked up some new board books for Abby. I can’t believe they already have some of their Christmas items out. I think the worst part is that I was actually tempted to buy some. I’m sooo over summer (sorry everyone) and ready for the fall so seeing the Christmas stuff just made me even more excited.

Once we left, we came home, I feed the kid some lunch and put her down for her nap.

Matt had to head out to go visit a co-worker at the hospital so I got a little alone time during her nap. The plan was to head to the park when he got back and the baby woke up from her nap but he ended up taking longer then suspected but it turned out ok. Abby slept longer then expected (probably making up for nap time from the previous day) and since Matt had the stroller in the car we just chilled out at home and had some fun play time till he got back.

Dinner was chicken fajitas and after the little one went to sleep for the night we watched the season finale of True Blood (Spoiler Alert – I can’t believe they killed off Eric – my gut is telling me that he is still alive) and the latest episode from the final season of Breaking Bad. Sunday is such a good tv night. I’m going to be sad when Breaking Bad and Dexter ends :(

Anyone else watch Breaking Bad, Dexter or True Blood? What did you think of the most recent episodes? Are you going to be morn the deaths of BB or Dexter with me?
